The British Institute of Cleaning Science is the foremost training and education body for cleaning within the UK. As corporate members we are able to access their modular programmes for staff improvement and training. They are instrumental in ensuring that best practice and industry specific issues are available to all the members. We adhere to the BICSs code of practice in all activities.
The National Carpet Cleaning Association provides in depth training, both residential and distance learning on carpet and upholstery cleaning and care techniques. Our carpet division staff are all accredited to national standards and attend refresher courses to ensure that we are using the latest equipment and techniques.
Whilst the requirements of ISO 9001 often increase paperwork at the expense of absolute standards, we have ensured that our systems start with the actual cleaning and finish with the necessary audit and traceability our clients need. We have increased the emphasis on quality cleaning and reduced the reliance on paper audit trails, that at best show historical data, that is often not truly relevant to our clients.
Environmental concern at all levels has been consolidated into our ISO 14001 management system. It encompasses both our management approach to our environmental responsibilities and the provision of cleaning services to our clients. Documented policies ensure a standard approach to how our business approaches our environmental responsibilities and aims to reduce our footprint and help to reduce our clients footprints.
Our commitment to reducing risks within our company has resulted in us joining the SAFEcontractor Scheme. We are assessed by an independent body and issued with an accreditation that confirms our systems and management have a commitment to safe working practices and an understanding of the environmental issues that we can influence when carrying out cleaning processes for our clients. It ensures that what we do is done safely and with a minimum of impact on the environment at all times.
We view our active membership of local Chambers of Commerce as a statement of our commitment to business on a local and national level. They provide a platform for us to engage in 2-way discussions with other local businesses regarding legislation and training together with an opportunity to meet on both a formal and informal basis.
